PERFORMANCE

When we speak of theatre

we speak of a laboratory,

of a workshop.
It must be accessible,
necessary.
After all, it is urgent.
It is the people's tool... it ought to be.
Brecht said that art is a hammer

with which to shape reality,

but that begs the question:

who wields the hammer?
